President Mauricio Macri announced the tender for incorporating renewable energy sources, and maintained that "in a few months we will receive plenty of offers from around the world", in a process that will generate "between 5000-8000 new jobs" throughout the country.

He added that in this way Argentina will also benefit from saving "several hundred million dollars each time we reach the consumption peaks", and that the country currently needs to import fuel at "very high costs".

The President made a public presentation regarding the first round of the RenovAR program, for the provision of 1000Mw of renewable energy, in the Center of Information and Environmental Protection of the city of Buenos Aires (CIFA)
