Buenos Aires and Tel Aviv will be connected by a direct flight
November 29, 2026 will mark a milestone in the relationship between Argentina and Israel: the two countries will be connected by a regular nonstop service between Tel Aviv and Buenos Aires.
The new route, operated by EL AL Israel Airlines, will connect Ben Gurion International Airport with Ezeiza International Airport with two weekly flights. The service will be operated with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, providing a direct connection across the more than 12,000 kilometers separating the two cities and eliminating the need for stopovers in third countries.
Establishing a direct flight between Argentina and Israel has been one of the initiatives promoted by the Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to Israel, Axel Wahnish, since the beginning of his tenure. Ambassador Wahnish has actively advocated for a direct air connection between the two countries.
The initiative gained significant momentum during President Javier Milei’s official visit to Israel in June 2025 and continued to advance through bilateral efforts and the new air services framework between the two countries. In May 2026, Argentina’s National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC) approved EL AL’s proposed schedule, confirming the launch of the new service on November 29.
A New Gateway to Argentina
The direct connection represents a particularly significant opportunity for Argentina’s tourism sector. In 2025, nearly 34,000 Israeli tourists visited Argentina, and arrivals from Israel have continued to show strong momentum throughout 2026.
By eliminating stopovers, the new service will make travel easier and bring Israeli travelers closer to the extraordinary diversity of experiences Argentina has to offer.
Buenos Aires will serve as a gateway to a country stretching from the spectacular Iguazú Falls to the glaciers of Patagonia, and from the vineyards of Mendoza to the dramatic landscapes of Argentina’s Northwest. Nature, gastronomy, culture, adventure, wine, football and tango are all part of a tourism offering as diverse as Argentina itself.
The new route will also make it easier for Argentines to travel to Israel and help strengthen the close family, cultural and community ties that have connected our two societies for decades.
Argentina and Israel, Closer Than Ever
A direct air connection does more than shorten distances. It creates new opportunities to travel and discover Argentina, while also facilitating cultural, academic, scientific and commercial exchanges between the two countries.
On November 29, when the inaugural flight departs Tel Aviv for Buenos Aires, a new chapter in connectivity between Argentina and Israel will begin.
For the first time, two countries separated by more than 12,000 kilometers will be just one flight away.
